Privacy policy

Effective 25 October 2026

This policy covers the Bhachakram app on every platform it is released for (Android, iPhone and iPad, Windows and Mac; app ID dev.velorix.bhachakram) and the website bhachakram.com. Both are published by Suryakant Sharma under the name Velorix ("we"). If you have a question about this policy, write to hello@velorix.com.

The short version

We don't collect any personal data. The birth details and charts you enter stay on your device. There is no account, no advertising, no analytics and no crash reporting.

What the app stores, and where

Internet use

The app uses the internet only to download optional data files, the full world atlas and the long-range ephemeris, and only when you choose to. On Android, internet access is the only permission it asks for. These files come over HTTPS from a public repository on GitHub, and the app checks each file's integrity before using it.

When you download them, GitHub receives the technical details any web request carries, such as your IP address and the time of the request, and handles them under GitHub's privacy statement. No birth details or other personal data are included in these requests.

The app doesn't access your location, contacts, camera, microphone or files other than ones you pick yourself.

Deleting your data

Because your data is only on your device, you control it directly. Delete a chart in the app from its row in your saved charts. Uninstalling the app removes everything it stored. On Android you can also clear its storage in Android settings. We have nothing to delete on our side, because we never received it.

Children

The app is not directed at children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect data from anyone, including children.

This website

bhachakram.com uses no cookies, analytics or tracking, and loads no third-party scripts or fonts. It is hosted on Cloudflare. Like any web host, Cloudflare processes technical request data such as IP addresses to deliver the site and protect it from abuse, under Cloudflare's privacy policy. If you email us, we use your message and address only to reply.

Changes to this policy

Versions for each platform follow this policy. If a platform's version handles data differently, we will describe it here before that version is released. If the app's handling of data changes, for example if a feature ever needs to send data off your device, we will update this page and the effective date before that version is released. Any such feature will ask for your explicit consent first.
